Masala Raaj

Masala Raaj is located out in Village Chimrani, right near the Bikaner Road. We are pretty close to National Highway 65, so we see a lot of trucks and traffic passing by all day long. The village life is quiet though, and we are just tucked away at our post here. The business isn't very old, but we have been working with spices for a long time. We have some open space where we can dry out the raw materials when the sun is out. It gets very hot here in the summer months, which is good for the spices but hard on us. We spend a lot of time moving heavy sacks around and making sure everything is kept dry. If it rains, we have to hurry and cover everything up. We don't have a big office or anything like that. It’s mostly just the processing area and where we stack the finished bags. Sometimes people from the highway stop by because they see our sign or smell what we are grinding. We just use simple scales and basic packing tools. It’s a lot of manual labor, honestly. My hands are usually stained from the spices and the smell stays with you even after you go home. We just focus on getting the batches right and making sure the bags are sealed properly before they go out on the trucks for delivery.
