The workshop for M. M. L Handicrafts is at 34, Mehton Ka Timbba, which is just off Jagdish Choke Road. If you find the Ganesh Temple, you’re basically there. We’ve been making handicrafts in this little corner of the city for a long time. It’s a narrow street, so it’s mostly foot traffic and the occasional scooter buzzing past. Inside, it smells like wood and paint and old stone. We don't have a big marketing team or a fancy website. It's just a few of us sitting on stools, working on pieces one by one. Sometimes a tourist wanders in because they saw the sign, but mostly we work for regular buyers who know the way we work with our hands. The walls are lined with shelves that are probably too full of finished goods and raw materials. It’s a bit of a maze in here. We don't follow a strict corporate schedule; we work until the light gets too dim or the job is finished. Every piece we make has its own little flaws because that’s what happens when you do things by hand. We like it that way. Jagdish Choke is a lively area, and the sound of temple bells often drifts into our workspace. It keeps things calm while we’re carving or decorating. We’ve stayed in this same spot because it feels right to be near the heart of the old city where these traditions started. We usually have a bit of music playing in the background too.
