About Krishna Tea Center – Food & Beverages in Udaipur
If you go down Dhanmandi School Marg, you’ll find Krishna Tea Center near the corner. It’s a lively area because of the school and the market nearby. The shop is usually open early so we can get things ready before the morning rush. We have rows of glass jars filled with different kinds of tea, and they catch the light in the afternoon. It’s a small space, so we have to be careful not to knock anything over when we are moving around. I usually have a radio playing in the background, mostly just for some noise while I’m weighing the tea. The customers are mostly locals who live within walking distance. They know what they like and they don’t need much help choosing. We don't use any fancy packaging, just simple bags that we tie with a bit of string. The floor is old tile and it’s cracked in a few places, but it’s been that way for as long as I can remember. Sometimes the children from the school run past and make a lot of noise, which reminds me of the time of day. We don't have a big corporate story to tell. We just sell tea and try to keep the shop clean. It’s a straightforward life and the work is consistent. Every evening, we sweep out the dust and lock up the heavy doors on School Marg.
