Jogniya Gajak Bhandar

Jogniya Gajak Bhandar is located at Amal Ka Kanta. It’s an old part of town and we’ve been here for a good while. We mainly focus on gajak and the traditional stuff. It’s a small shop, mostly filled with the smell of sugar and sesame. We don't have fancy displays or glass counters that shine. It’s more about the bins and the bags filled with what we make. The street outside is always narrow and busy with people walking by. We know most of the other shopkeepers around Amal Ka Kanta. It’s a tight-knit community. We wake up early to start the work because these things take time to get right. We don't use big machines for everything; a lot of it is still done by hand. It’s the way we learned and we haven't seen a reason to change it. Sometimes the floor gets a bit sticky, but that's just how it goes in this line of work. We aren't looking to open ten more branches. We just want to keep this one going and make sure the quality is what it should be. People come from other parts of the city just to buy a box. That makes us feel like we’re doing something right. It’s just us, the shop, and the daily grind. We keep the doors open until the last piece is sold or it gets too late.
