Our office is located out by Chirwa Ghat, near where Amar Marble is in Amberi. It’s a bit of a drive from the main city, but it puts us close to where the action is. We handle minerals and mining-related materials here at Jai Vardhman Khaniz Pvt Ltd. The landscape around us is pretty rugged. We have a lot of trucks coming through the gates to load up or drop off stuff throughout the week. The office itself is pretty basic. We have some samples of stones and minerals sitting on the shelves. It’s a dusty environment, especially when the wind picks up across the ghat. We spend our time managing logistics and keeping track of what’s coming out of the ground. Most of the guys here are used to the outdoor work. We don’t really do much in the way of marketing or fancy presentations. We just deal with the raw materials and the people who need them. It’s a straightforward business. We start early in the morning when it’s still cool out. By midday, it gets pretty bright and hot. We take our breaks in the shade when we can. It’s a tough job sometimes, but it’s what we do. We’ve been operating out of this Amberi location for years. We just keep moving the minerals and making sure the trucks are on schedule. That is about all there is to our daily routine here.
