We are up on the first floor at 54 Bapu Bazar. It is a lively area and there is always something going on down in the street. You have to walk up some narrow stairs to reach us, which can be a bit of a workout if you are carrying boxes. We handle a lot of different items and our space is usually packed to the ceiling. Sometimes it is hard to find a place to sit down because there are crates everywhere. We started out small and just kept adding more stuff as the years went by. Bapu Bazar is a great place to be located even if the traffic is a nightmare most afternoons. We don’t do any fancy advertising or have a big sign with lights. Most people find us because they know someone who has been here before. We spend a lot of our time on the phone or writing out receipts by hand. It gets very busy during the festival seasons and we barely have time to eat lunch. The air is always full of the sounds of the market and people shouting. We try to keep things organized but it is a constant battle against the mess. It is a simple operation and we like it that way. We just open up in the morning, do our work, and lock the shutters when the market starts to quiet down at night.
