Arihant Bhandar

Arihant Bhandar is located right in the middle of Dhanmandi. If you’ve ever walked through the market here, you’ve probably passed by us. It’s a very old part of town and the streets are always full of people and carts. Our shop is a bit cramped because we try to keep a lot of stock on hand. We deal with various items that people need for their daily lives or for special occasions. It’s always noisy in Dhanmandi, which we’ve just gotten used to over the years. We start early in the morning when the trucks are unloading and don’t really stop until late. The shop doesn't have any modern decorations, just wooden shelves and old counters that have been here forever. We talk to all kinds of people every day, from farmers to city folks. It’s a busy life but it keeps us on our toes. Sometimes we have to climb up high to reach things at the back of the store. We don't have a website or anything like that; we just rely on people knowing where we are. The air in the market always smells like spices and dust. It’s a local business in every sense of the word. We just do our thing here in Dhanmandi and try to keep the shelves filled up for the next person who comes in looking for something specific. It’s just how we live.
