Architect Kapil Intodia

My office is located at Court Chauraha 120, which is a busy intersection that most people in the area know quite well. I’m Kapil Intodia, and I’ve been working as an architect from this spot for a while. Being near the court means there is always a lot of movement outside, and the sounds of the street are just part of the background of my workday. My space inside is fairly organized, though you’ll always find rolls of blueprints and sketches of various projects taking up the table. I spend most of my time here, thinking about how to solve different building puzzles. Every project has its own set of problems, and I enjoy the process of sitting down and drawing out the solutions. It’s not always easy, and some days are spent just staring at a blank sheet of paper trying to get started. I don’t go for anything too elaborate in my office; it’s a practical place for a practical job. People usually stop by to talk about a house they want to build or a shop renovation they’re planning. We just sit and have a chat about what they need, and I try to give them a realistic idea of what’s possible. It’s a steady way to live, working in the heart of the city and seeing designs eventually turn into real buildings. I just take things one drawing at a time.
