Alka Advertisers

Our little spot for Alka Advertisers is right there at 42, on the first floor in Bapu Bazar. It’s a busy place, and if you know the area, you know how the noise from the street just carries up. We’ve been here a good while now, and the stairs are starting to show a bit of wear from everyone coming and going. Inside, it’s mostly just desks and a lot of paper samples scattered around. We do a lot of different things, like flyers and signs, and sometimes the place smells like fresh ink, which I’ve actually grown to like over the years. The fan in the corner makes a bit of a clicking sound, but it keeps the air moving during those really hot afternoons. We aren't trying to be some big fancy agency. We’re just local people helping other locals get their word out. Sometimes the printer acts up right when we have a deadline, which is always a bit stressful, but we usually figure it out eventually. There’s a tea guy downstairs who brings us a couple of cups in the afternoon, and that’s usually the highlight of the day. The windows look out over the market, so if I’m waiting for a file to load, I just watch the shoppers down below. It’s a decent way to spend the day, just doing the work and seeing familiar faces from the neighborhood stop by for their orders. It’s nothing glamorous, just us working here day after day until it’s time to go home.
