We are located in the Hazareshwar Coloy, right on Hopsital Road. The sign outside says Alankar 8, and that’s where you’ll find the workshop. It’s usually pretty noisy because of the machines running, but we’re used to it by now. My dad started Alankar Engineers a long time ago, and I just sort of grew up around the tools and the smell of grease. We don't have a fancy front office with a receptionist. Usually, if you walk in, you’ll find one of us with grease on our hands fixing a part or looking over a blueprint. We do a lot of small repair jobs and custom metal work for people around the coloy and the local hopsitals nearby. It’s practical work. We don't spend money on big ads or shiny signs. People just know where we are when something breaks down. Some days the shop is a total mess with scrap metal everywhere, but we know where everything is. We try to get things done as fast as we can, but good engineering takes a bit of time. If a job isn't right, we fix it until it is. That’s how we were taught. It’s a simple life here on Hopsital Road. We open early, drink a lot of tea, and try to keep the machines hummimg along for our customers without making things more complicated than they need to be. Most of our neighbors are used to the clanking by now.
