1St Choice Fabrics

Our shop, 1St Choice Fabrics, is located right by Badi Pole near City Palace. If you know Jagdish Chowk, you know how loud it gets with all the rickshaws and tourists walking up to the palace. We’ve got a lot of fabric rolls stacked up everywhere. Honestly, there isn't much space to move around once a few people come inside. We mostly deal with cottons and some fancy materials that people like for stitching their own suits or shirts. It’s a simple setup. We don't have those fancy mannequins in the window because the sun hits the front of the shop too hard in the afternoon. Usually, we are busy measuring out meters of cloth and making sure the edges are cut straight. It’s a family-run thing, and we’ve seen the neighborhood change a lot over the years. Some days it's just quiet and we sit out front watching the monkeys on the rooftops, and other days it's so crowded you can't even hear yourself talk. We try to keep a good variety so people don't have to go all the way to the bigger markets. The floor is old stone and stays cool in the summer, which is nice. We aren't trying to be anything special, just a place where you can get a decent piece of cloth for a fair price without any fuss or pressure. It is just a normal shop for normal people.
