Down in Thoothukudi, things move at a different pace than in the big cities. Our place is in Valavallan Melur, which is part of the Srivaikundam Taluk. We use the address New No.3/122, though some still remember the old number 3/104. It’s a local operation through and through. JCRSCAPE is about building and developing things right here in the area. The landscape is a bit dry, and the sun is really something else in this part of Tamil Nadu. We spend our mornings checking on local sites and the afternoons dealing with the heat and the office work. It’s a small community, so everyone knows who we are. We don't need a lot of marketing because word spreads fast by mouth. If someone needs a building put up, they just come by the house or the office. We deal with the local materials and the weather conditions that are specific to Thoothukudi. It’s honest work. Sometimes we have to travel a bit further out into the taluk for a project. The office is simple, just a room with the necessary documents and a place to sit and have a coffee. We don’t have a big corporate structure. It’s just us making sure the projects get finished so the next one can start. It’s a quiet life but we stay busy enough. The people here are straightforward and we try to be the same way when we are working on the land.
