We are located at No. 379, and it’s a fairly large building that keeps us on our feet all day long. Managing a place like this involves a lot of moving parts. We have staff members who handle the front desk, others who take care of the rooms, and a few of us in the back office dealing with the accounts and the bookings. It’s never really quiet here because there is always someone coming or going. We spend a lot of time making sure the maintenance is up to date, which is a never-ending job. Something always needs fixing, whether it’s a leaky tap or a lightbulb that’s gone out. We don’t really have a lot of time for sitting around. The lobby is usually the busiest spot, and we try to keep it looking decent for whoever walks in. Our office area is tucked away and is usually a mess of schedules and cleaning logs. It’s a practical business, and we focus on the basics of keeping the building running and making sure people have what they need. We’ve been doing this for a while now, and we’ve learned that the little things matter the most. It’s not a glamorous job, but we take a bit of pride in keeping things organized at 379. Every day brings a different set of problems to solve, which keeps things interesting, even if it’s just figuring out where a delivery went or fixing the laundry machines.
