Gana Academy Pre School

Out here in Gokula Extension, things are usually quiet until the kids show up at Gana Academy. We are located in the Batawadi area of Tumkur. It is basically a small house converted into a school for the little ones. We spend most of our mornings trying to get them to sit still or at least stay in the same room. There is a lot of drawing on the walls sometimes, even if we tell them not to. Our teachers are mostly ladies from the neighborhood who have kids of their own. They know how it goes. We have a small play area that gets a lot of use when the weather is nice. The building is painted bright so people can find it easily. Sometimes the traffic on the way to Tumkur makes the parents a bit late for pickup, but we just wait with the children until they arrive. We don't have a big playground, but we make do with the space we have. It’s a lot of singing and learning the alphabet and trying to keep the snacks off the floor. We’ve been at this address for a while now. Most people around here know us because of the noise during recess. It’s a simple setup for the families living around Gokula Extension who need a place for their toddlers during the day. We just do our best with what we have here. We make sure the kids have their water bottles and bags before they head home in the afternoon.
