About Blossom English Higher Primary School – Education in Tumakuru
We are located in Heggere, which is on the outskirts of Tumkur. Blossom English Higher Primary School started because there weren't many English medium options nearby for younger kids. The school is near the main road, so we get a bit of traffic noise, but it's not too bad. We have a small group of teachers who really care about the children. Most of us live right here in Heggere. The building is painted a light yellow, though it’s fading a bit now. We have a small assembly every morning where we sing the national anthem. It’s a good way to start the day. The classrooms are filled with drawings the kids made, stuck to the walls with tape. Sometimes they fall off when the fan is on high. We focus on reading and writing mostly. The parents often stop by the office to talk about their kids' progress or to pay the fees. We keep everything in big ledger books because we don't use computers much. In the afternoons, the sun hits the back windows, so we put up some old curtains. It makes the rooms look a bit messy, but it keeps the heat out. We have a small tap outside for washing hands. It’s a simple setup. We are just trying to help the local kids get a decent start before they go to high school. The neighbors are nice and don't mind the noise during break time. Most of the children walk home together in groups.
