Yalong Farmers Producer Company Limited is a group of us here in the Tuensang area. Longtang handles the correspondence and keeps our records at his place. We are just local farmers who decided to team up. In a place like Tuensang, things can be a bit isolated, so having a group helps us stay connected and get things done. We don't have a fancy office or a marketing team. It’s just us, the same people you see in the market or on the paths every day. We focus on growing what we can and making sure it doesn't go to waste. Farming in Nagaland isn't always simple because the land is steep and the weather is unpredictable. We don't have a lot of expensive equipment. It’s mostly manual work and a lot of patience. We don't talk in big professional terms. We just speak our minds and try to figure out the best way to move our produce. Sometimes we disagree on what to plant, but we always work it out over a meal. We aren't trying to change the world. We just want to make sure our farms stay productive and that we can provide for our homes. It’s a straightforward life and we don't try to make it sound like more than it is. Just people and plants in our part of the world. We don't need much more than that to keep going.
