If you go to Bazar C in Tuensang, you might find us working at Thangjam Farmers Producer Company Limited. Sao Chang is the person whose name is on the address for our main spot. Tuensang is a long way from the bigger cities, so we have to rely on each other quite a lot out here. We are just a bunch of farmers from the area who thought it would be better to work together. It’s pretty simple really. We grow things, we try to sell them, and we help each other out when the tools break or the rain is too much. It gets pretty cold up here sometimes, but the work doesn't really stop. We don't have a big shiny office with glass windows. It’s just a regular place where we meet and talk. We don't talk like businessmen because we aren't. We are just people who know about seeds and seasons. Sometimes we have meetings to decide what to do for the next month, and those usually happen over a cup of tea near the bazaar. It’s a bit of a struggle sometimes with the transport and the hills, but we get by. We aren't looking for awards. We just want to keep the farms running and make sure our families are okay at the end of the year. That's the main thing for everyone involved with us.
