Madras Cements Ltd.

We’ve been here at 4th Cross Street in Pammal for quite some time now. Most people around Chennai know the name Madras Cements, but this specific spot is where we handle a lot of the local coordination. It isn't a fancy office with glass walls or anything like that. It's just a place where we get the work done. Usually, the day starts pretty early because the trucks and the supply chain don't really wait for anyone. The street outside can get a bit crowded, but we managed to make it work over the years. We handle a lot of the paperwork and the logistics for the cement moving through this part of the city. If you come by, you’ll see it’s a fairly busy operation. Some of the guys have been working here for a decade, so they know the routine inside out. It's dusty sometimes, but that’s just how it is when you’re dealing with construction materials. We don't really do big speeches or marketing things here. We just make sure the bags go where they need to go and the accounts are settled at the end of the month. It's a steady job and we like the neighborhood. Pammal has changed a lot since we first set up, but our building is still the same. Sometimes the power goes out for a bit, but we just wait it out. It's part of living in this area. It feels like home even if it is a workplace.
