You can find Omsakthi Exports at No. 655 on Victory Street-2, over in Dr. Sivaji Nagar. Cheyyar is a place where people know each other, and our street is no different. We’ve been at this location for a good while, working out of a building that serves as our main base. It’s a lot of handling goods and checking labels before things get sent off. The space isn’t very fancy. We have concrete floors and some heavy-duty shelving to hold everything. During the day, it can get pretty warm, so we keep the doors open to let the air move through. There’s usually a bit of dust because we’re right on the street, but that’s just part of the job. We spend a lot of time double-checking lists to make sure nothing gets missed. It’s a lot of manual work, moving crates and packing things up. We don’t have a dedicated sales team or anything like that. It’s just us doing the work ourselves. Sometimes the neighborhood kids play out on the street while we’re loading up, and we have to tell them to move back a bit. It’s a very local feel here. We know the rhythms of the street and the people who live nearby. We just try to get our exports ready and out the door without any mistakes. It’s a simple, hardworking life in a busy corner of Cheyyar.
