You can find us right on the Chennai Kolkatha Highway at No:F6 in Gummidipoondi. S V L Ltd. is what we call ourselves, but we’re just a small crew working out of this building. The highway is always loud with trucks passing by at all hours. It makes for a busy atmosphere even when we aren't doing much. We handle logistics and some storage here. The warehouse isn't huge, but it's enough for what we need. We spend our mornings unloading and our afternoons checking the manifest. Sometimes we have to stay late if a shipment is delayed. Gummidipoondi has a lot of businesses like ours because of the road access. We don't have a fancy lobby or a receptionist. If someone stops by, one of us just walks over to the gate. We prefer it that way. It keeps things simple. We’ve had some leaks in the roof during the big storms, so we’re always keeping an eye on the weather. The work is repetitive, but it’s steady. We don't try to be anything we aren't. We just provide a place for goods to sit before they move on to the next city. It’s practical work. Most of our equipment is older, but we maintain it ourselves. That’s just how we do things at F6. We’ve been here since the highway was much narrower than it is today. Time just passes and we keep the boxes moving.
