Our place is out at 21, Periapalayam Road, in Kannigaiper Village. It’s a bit of a drive from the city, but we like being out here. The air is a little clearer, even with the traffic on the main road. The facility is quite large and we have a lot of space for our operations. Most of the people who work here come from the surrounding villages. We’ve got a good group of regulars who have been with us for years. The morning shift starts early, usually while it’s still a bit cool outside. We deal with industrial materials, so there is always something being moved around by the forklifts. It can be quite a noisy place when all the equipment is running at once. We have a small break area where everyone eats their lunch. Sometimes we share whatever snacks someone brought from home. The yard is big and it gets pretty dusty when the trucks come in to load up. We keep a close eye on the gate to make sure everything is coming and going as it should. It’s a straightforward way of working. There are no frills here, just the work and the people doing it. We’ve become a bit of a landmark on Periapalayam Road over the years. We show up, do the job, and head home. It's a solid routine that works for us.
