We are located over on 2nd Main Road in Somasundaram Nagar, right in the Thiruvottiyur area of Chennai. If you’ve ever been to this part of the city, you know it has its own rhythm. It's pretty close to the industrial zones, so there's always a bit of a hum in the air. Our place at No. 2 is where we spend our days dealing with the cement side of things. The weather here in Chennai can be really humid, so the fans are always spinning in the office. It’s a straightforward setup with desks, computers, and a lot of logbooks. We aren't trying to impress anyone with big signs or shiny glass walls. It’s just a functional space where we track shipments and talk to drivers. A lot of our day is spent on the phone, coordinating with sites and making sure the bags get to where they’re supposed to be. Sometimes the traffic on the main road makes things a bit slow, but we’re used to it by now. The tea stalls nearby are where we usually take a break. Most of the people working here live nearby, so there's a real local feel to how we do things. We don't use much complicated jargon; we just talk about numbers, dates, and delivery locations. It’s practical work. We’ve seen the neighborhood change a bit over the years, but our daily routine stays mostly the same. We just show up and do our job.
