Out on George Rathinam Road, you’ll find us at number 563. We’re tucked away in G G Nagar, Nerkundram. The area has changed a lot since we first set up A P T Tools & Machinery. It used to be much quieter, but now there’s a lot of movement. Inside our building, things are pretty packed. We have shelves reaching up to the ceiling filled with all sorts of machinery parts and hand tools. It’s a lot to keep track of, to be honest. We use a computer for the inventory, but usually, Ramesh or one of the other guys knows exactly where a specific item is just by looking at the shelf. We spend a lot of time talking to local contractors and shop owners who need stuff for their projects. Sometimes we get people coming in from further away because they heard we had a specific part in stock. The air smells a bit like grease and cold metal, which is pretty standard for a place like this. We don’t have a big reception area with fancy coffee. If you come by, you’ll probably just see us working or loading up a truck in the driveway. It’s a lot of physical labor, moving heavy crates and checking serial numbers. We just keep our heads down and handle the daily grind. It’s not glamorous work, but it’s what we know how to do. Most of us have been here for years, so we’ve seen it all.
