Switin Garments India Private Limited

Our office is located at 59E in the State Bank Colony, on 1st Street in Gandhi Nagar. It’s a nice area, a bit more residential than the industrial zones, which makes for a calmer workday. Switin Garments has been operating out of this building for some time. We have a few rooms dedicated to the different stages of making the clothes. The light comes in nicely through the front windows in the morning. We don’t have a corporate lobby with a fountain or anything, just a few chairs for visitors and a lot of boxes waiting to be shipped out. Most of the people working here are from the neighborhood, so we all know each other’s families. We spend a lot of time checking the quality of the fabric and making sure the sizes are right. It’s a lot of manual work and your hands get tired by the end of the shift. The tea break is when we actually get a chance to sit and talk about something other than the orders. We keep the place as clean as we can, but with all the thread and scraps, it’s a constant battle. It’s a straightforward business where we just show up and do what needs to be done every day. Gandhi Nagar is a good place to be, even if parking on 1st Street can be a bit of a headache during the afternoon hours.
