Down here in Tirupur, things move fast. We are based at 14/6, Kandasamy Lay Out in the Pichampalayam Pudur area. Embee Apparels Pvt Ltd is basically where we spend all our time. If you know this part of the city, you know it’s all about the clothes. We have machines running and people checking fabric all day long. It gets loud and it definitely gets warm, especially in the summer. We started small and just kept going because the work was there. There’s no big secret to how we run the place. We just make sure the orders are ready and the stuff we make is decent and not falling apart. The trucks come and go from the post area pretty regularly. Sometimes there is a delay with the thread or the dye, and we just have to figure it out. It’s not a shiny corporate office with carpets. It’s a floor where things actually get made. We eat our lunch together and talk about whatever is on the news. Then it’s back to the sewing and the packing. Being in the apparel business in a place like Tirupur means you have to stay sharp. We don't have time for fancy talk. We just want to make sure the boxes are packed and sent out on time. The noise of the machinery is something you just get used to after a while.
