Srinithi Garments

If you look behind the big KPR Mills in Angeripalayam, you’ll find us at 8/280D. Srinithi Garments is a bit hidden away compared to the massive factories around here, but we like it that way. It’s quieter in the back and we don’t get as much of the main road noise. The building is a simple structure with a tin roof that makes a lot of noise when it rains. We have a few rows of machines and a big cutting table that takes up most of the center space. The guys usually bring their lunch from home and we eat together in the shade of the tree out back. It’s a small operation, so everyone does a bit of everything, from cutting to packing. We don’t have a fancy office or a receptionist; if someone comes to the door, whoever is closest just stops what they're doing to help. The commute can be a bit rough on the dirt paths when it’s muddy, but we make it work. We’ve got a lot of thread spools in every color you can think of, mostly just sitting in old plastic bins. It’s an honest living and we don’t try to pretend to be bigger than we are. Sometimes we stay late to finish a batch, and the only sound is the crickets and the hum of the last few lamps over the needles.
