Our spot at S K Apparels is at 4/370 Pappa Nagar, specifically on the 1st Street right by Cotton Mill Road. Being near the mill road means there’s always some action happening. You can hear the trucks and the general hum of the industrial side of the area throughout the day. The building is a standard one for Pappa Nagar, nothing that stands out too much from the outside. Inside, it’s all about the clothes. We have piles of fabric in different colors stacked up against the walls. The lighting is a bit bright, which helps when we’re looking at the stitching. We’ve been at this location for a bit, and we’ve figured out how to make the space work for us. It’s not a huge office, but it fits our desks and the packing area. We usually have a radio playing somewhere in the background to keep the energy up. When it rains, the sound on the roof is quite something. We keep our records in old binders and make sure to stay on top of the daily tasks. It’s a straightforward way to earn a living. The people who work here live mostly nearby, so there’s a lot of local talk about the neighborhood. We don’t put on any acts; we just show up and handle the apparel business as best as we can until it’s time to lock up and head back to our families.
