Puthumana India

You can find Puthumana India over on 4th Street. We are on the 3rd floor of the building in Bridgeway Colony Extension, right in Sastri Nagar. The elevator is a bit temperamental, so we end up taking the stairs more than we’d like. Our office is where all the planning happens. We have rolls of fabric samples sitting on almost every flat surface. It’s a bit of a maze sometimes. We deal with a lot of manufacturing stuff, mostly checking on orders and talking to the factories. It’s a lot of emails and phone calls. The 3rd floor gives us a decent view of the street, which is nice when we take a break. We’ve been here for a while. The desks are a bit scratched up and we have files from years ago taking up space in the corners. It’s not a showy place. We just need a spot to get the work done. Sastri Nagar is a busy area, so there’s always something going on outside. We usually have tea together in the afternoon and talk about how to get the next shipment out on time. It’s a small group of us here. We don’t have fancy titles. Everyone just helps out with whatever needs doing, whether it’s answering the phone or packing up a sample box. The hallway light flickers sometimes, so it can be a bit spooky if you're leaving late at night. We have a couple of extra chairs for visitors, but they usually end up holding boxes of thread or fabric swatches. It's a bit of a squeeze when we have more than three people.
