Knit Fashions

Our place, Knit Fashions, is located at No. 312 in Shri Nagar. It’s near the Pitchampalayam Post office, and we are quite close to Mirth. The building is a bit older, and we’ve been here for a while now. Most of what we do involves knitting and textile work. We have several machines running throughout the day, and it can get quite loud inside. Shri Nagar is a quiet enough area usually, except for when the trucks come to drop off yarn. We don’t have a big corporate office or a team of secretaries. It’s just us and a few workers who know how to handle the equipment. We spend most of our time on the floor, checking the tension on the machines and making sure the patterns are coming out okay. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to wait around, but that’s just part of being here. The space is filled with rolls of fabric and bags of waste material. We try to keep it as tidy as we can, but work gets in the way. People come by the post office and sometimes drop in to see what we’re making. It’s a simple life, really. We just focus on the knitting and making sure we get the orders ready for when the transport arrives. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy from Monday to Saturday. Usually, we are finished by the time the sun goes down.
