The workshop is tucked away at number 10, Poothottam. It’s in the Murungapalayakm Extension area, which usually stays pretty busy with people moving around. Most days you can hear the sewing machines going as soon as you turn the corner. We have a small crew here, and everyone pretty much knows their job inside and out. It’s not the kind of place with a big sign or anything flashy to look at. We focus on getting the shirts and trousers finished on time. Sometimes the fabrics arrive late and we have to stay a bit longer to catch up. That’s the garment life for you. The office part is just a desk in the corner where we handle the paperwork and the bills. It gets crowded when new rolls of cloth come in, so we have to move things around quite a bit to make space. The lighting isn't always great, but we make it work for the cutting. We’ve been in this extension for a few years now. Most of the people working here live just a short walk away. We aren't trying to be some giant corporation. We just want to make sure the stitches are straight and the boxes are packed right for the delivery. It gets hot in the summer, so we have a couple of fans that we keep running all day long. It’s just us, some fabric, and a lot of thread. Nothing too complicated, really. We just get on with it.
