D.R. Sharan Garments

You will find D.R. Sharan Garments at No. 8/20 in Ramaiya Colony West. We are right across the street from Jimmy Knitting, so if you find them, you have found us too. It is a typical street in this part of town, always something going on with deliveries and people. We are a small garment outfit. We don’t have a fancy lobby or a receptionist. Usually, you’ll just hear the sound of the machines as soon as you get near the door. The space is filled with rolls of fabric and thread of all different colors. We have a small group of workers who have been with us for a good bit of time. We mostly do contract work, stitching up batches of clothes for various labels. It is repetitive work, but we try to keep the quality steady. The lighting inside isn't the best, but we have enough lamps over the machines to see what we are doing clearly. We don't spend money on glossy brochures or big announcements. We just sit at our benches and do the sewing. Some days are faster than others, especially when we have a big deadline coming up. It can get a bit stressful then, but we usually manage to get everything out the door. We like being in Ramaiya Colony because it feels like a community of people who actually make things with their hands. We just want to get the job done and go home.
