Art Excel Apparels

You’ll find Art Excel Apparels over at the SIDCO Industrial Estate in Perumanallur. We operate out of Shed Number 10 and 11 in Tekma Nagar, near Pongupalayam. It’s an industrial area, so don’t expect anything fancy when you come to visit. It’s mostly just big buildings and the sound of machines running all day long. We have a fair amount of space in these two sheds, but it always seems to fill up quickly with materials and finished goods. The metal roofs make it quite loud when it rains, and it gets pretty warm during the middle of the day. We’ve got a steady crew of people who know their way around the equipment. We spend our time looking at stitch counts and checking the fabric for any flaws. There’s a lot of dust from the threads, so we’re always sweeping up. It’s a very practical environment. We don’t have a lobby or a nice place to sit; we usually just talk to people on the floor while we work. The road leading here can be a bit bumpy, especially after the monsoon. We just focus on getting the garments made and loaded onto the trucks. It’s hard work, but we’re used to it. We drink a lot of tea to stay going. It’s just a regular factory life, nothing more and nothing less. We’ve been part of this estate for years and it’s where we belong. It's just a job.
