Amisha Plastics

Amisha Plastics is over at Door No. 5 - A in Anupparpalayam Pudur. We are in the Vinayagar Thottam area on A.V.P. Road, which is quite near the Kalaivani Theatre. If you see the theater, you’re almost there. Our workplace is a bit of a mix between a storage room and a factory. We have bags of raw plastic pellets stacked up in the corner and finished items sitting in crates. The machines we use for molding can get really hot, so we keep the big side doors open to let the breeze in. It gets pretty loud when everything is running at once, so we have to shout a bit to hear each other. The floor is covered in small bits of plastic that we sweep up at the end of every shift. We have a small shrine in the corner with some pictures and a lamp that we light every morning. It’s a small family-run kind of place, so there’s no formal dress code or anything. We just wear what’s comfortable for working around machinery. The neighborhood is mostly residential with a few small shops, so it’s a nice place to be. We’ve been here for several years now, and we know most of the people who walk past our gate every day. It’s just us doing our thing and trying to keep the machines in good shape.
