If you head down to South Puthugramam 3rd Street in Kovilpatti, you will find us working with a lot of heavy metal. Shadeed Iron Steels L L C is basically a yard where we deal with all sorts of iron and steel pieces needed for building stuff. It’s a dusty job and it gets loud with the clanging of metal, especially when the trucks are being loaded or unloaded early in the morning. We’ve been operating out of this spot in Tuticorin district for quite some time. It is not the kind of place where you wear a clean shirt and sit in the AC. Most of the time, we are out there checking the stock or talking to contractors about what they need for their next project. The Tamilnadu sun can be really tough on us, but the work has to get done. We handle beams, rods, and whatever else people ask for when they are putting up a house or a shed. People around here know the address well enough. We don't do much talk, we just weigh the steel and get it onto the lorries. It’s a straightforward business, really. No big corporate offices, just a gate and a lot of inventory sitting around waiting to be used. Sometimes the rain slows us down, but we just cover things up and wait for it to pass. It’s just us doing our bit for the local construction scene.
