Our place is down south in Tenkasi, specifically in Sundarapandiapuram. If you’re looking for us, we’re on Manthai Street, which is a busy little stretch. It’s quite a distance from the main Mumbai office, so we handle things pretty independently here. The weather in this part of Tamil Nadu is no joke, especially in the afternoons, so we try to get most of our heavy thinking done in the cooler mornings. The office is tucked into the 13/57 building. It’s a simple setup with a few desks and a lot of files. Most of us speak the local language and know the neighbors well. We’ve become part of the street’s daily rhythm over the years. You can hear the sounds of the town outside our windows all day. We deal with the engineering and construction tasks that come our way, mostly focusing on the technical side of things. There’s always someone coming in with a question or a delivery. We don't have a fancy reception desk or anything. You just walk in and talk to whoever is available. We spend a lot of time checking on the progress of our local assignments. It’s hard work, but the people here are good and we make it work. Lunch is usually something brought from home, and we all sit together when we can. It’s a straightforward life, just focusing on the job and getting through the week without too much fuss or extra noise.
