Studying

Our place, which we just call Studying, is located at Kumar Nivas. We are right over in the Santhi Nagar area of Kazhakuttom, just west of Attinkuzhi. It is a pretty quiet part of Trivandrum, mostly just houses and small local shops. We have been here for a while now and the building is old but it stays cool even when the Kerala sun is really beating down outside. There is a lot of green around the building, which is nice when you need to take a break and look out the window. We are not some big corporate office with glass walls or anything like that. It is just a simple space with a few desks and some books piled up in the corners. Usually, you can hear the birds chirping or the sound of a motorbike passing by on the street. We started this because there was a need for a spot like this in our neighborhood. The staff here is just a few of us who live nearby and walk or take the bus in every morning. We drink a lot of tea and try to get through the work without too much stress. If the rain starts, which it does a lot here in Kerala, the sound on the roof is actually quite relaxing while we work. It is a very normal, local setup and we like being part of the community here in Kazhakuttom.
