Southern News Channel

Southern News Channel is based out of Flat No. 1 at Sc-167 in Anna Nager. It’s not a huge television studio with bright lights and a makeup department. It’s more of a small office where we gather information and try to keep up with what’s happening around us. We have a few desks, some computers, and a lot of wires running across the floor. Sometimes it gets a bit chaotic when a big story breaks or when we’re trying to meet a deadline, but we manage to pull it together. Anna Nager is a busy spot, so there’s always something going on just outside our window. We aren't corporate journalists with big budgets; we’re just local people who think it’s important to share what’s going on in the community. Our equipment isn't the newest, but it gets the job done and we know how to use it. We spend a lot of time on the phone or out in the street talking to neighbors and shop owners. Some people might find our office a bit cramped, especially when we have a few guests over, but it feels like home to us. We don’t have a script for every single thing, and sometimes we stumble over our words, but we try to keep it real. It’s a lot of work for a small crew, and the coffee pot is always running to keep us going through the long nights of editing.
