National Hardware

We have been here at 100-C for a while now, right on Madurai Road. If you are looking for us, we are just across from the Ramakrishna Theater, which is usually easier to spot than our small sign. Being National Hardware means dealing with a lot of dust and heavy boxes every single morning. It’s a busy stretch of road and the traffic sometimes makes it hard to pull over, but people manage. The shop isn't anything fancy to look at, just shelves filled with what you’d expect. Sometimes it takes a minute to find the specific screw or bolt someone is asking for because things get moved around. We spend most of the day just organizing stock or helping whoever walks through the door with whatever they need for their house or a small project. The theater across the street brings in some crowds in the evenings, but by then we are usually wrapping things up. It’s mostly just hard work and making sure we have enough on the shelves so people don't have to go all the way into the main city center. It gets hot in the afternoons here, so we keep the fans going, and there is always a bit of a line when the local contractors stop by in the morning. We don't have a big office or anything, just the counter and the inventory. It works for us.
