Saalvi Agro Mushrooms

Being in the mushroom business means you spend a lot of time in the dark and damp. We are set up at 58/1 in the Municipal Colony area of Puthur. It’s a quiet enough spot, which is good for what we do. Growing mushrooms isn't like regular farming; you have to be really careful with the temperature and the humidity inside the rooms. Most of our mornings start very early, long before the sun is actually up, because that’s when the work needs to happen. We don't have a big office with glass windows. Instead, it’s a lot of practical spaces where the crops are growing in their bags. The air always has this earthy, wet smell that sticks to your clothes by the end of the shift. We are just a local team from around Puthur, mostly focused on the daily cycle of harvesting and packing. There’s always some dirt on the floor and empty crates stacked up in the corner waiting to be filled. It is hard work, and your back usually hurts by the afternoon, but it feels good to see things growing. We don't use any fancy language to describe what we do here. We just grow the mushrooms, pack them up, and get them out to the people who want them. The Municipal Colony is a decent place to work from, even if the road gets a bit muddy when it rains.
