You can find us at 119 Pudukkottai Main Road. We’ve been in the Subramaniyapuram area for quite a long time. The shop is mostly full of kitchen appliances like mixers, grinders, and small stoves. It’s a busy road, so there is always something going on outside our door. We started out small and stayed that way because it's easier to manage. Most of our customers are folks who live right here in the neighborhood. They come in when their old cooker stops working or they need a new kettle for the morning tea. We have a lot of different brands on the shelves, though they all start to look the same after a while. The shop isn't very big, so we have to stack things pretty high sometimes. I spend a lot of time explaining how the different knobs and buttons work to people who aren't used to the newer models. It's not a high-tech place, just a regular shop with some chairs for people to sit while we test out a motor for them. We try to keep things honest and simple. If something can be fixed, we tell them, and if they need something new, we show them what we have in stock. The Pudukkottai Main Road stays loud until late at night, so we usually keep the doors open to catch whatever breeze comes by. It's just us at Abirami Appliances, doing our daily bit.
