Yaana Montessori Childrens House

If you go down to Thoppinmoola in West Fort, you will find Yaana Montessori Childrens House. It is a small place in Thrissur where we look after the younger children. Montessori is a bit different from the regular schools you see around, but we just do our best with the kids. The house we are in has been set up to give them enough room to move around and play with the different sets of toys and learning materials we have. It’s not a very big operation, just a few of us working here and making sure the kids are safe and learning something new every day. Thrissur can get quite warm, so we try to keep the rooms as cool as possible. Parents usually drop their kids off early on their way to work. We spend a lot of time sitting on the floor with the little ones because that’s just how things are done here. It gets noisy, especially when it’s snack time, but we are used to it by now. We don't have a big marketing budget or fancy signs. Most of our families come from the West Fort area or nearby neighborhoods. We just focus on the daily routine and making sure the children are happy. It’s a simple setup, and we like it that way because it feels more like a home than a stiff office or school building. It’s just us.
