Vakkayil Impex

Our office is right on A. I. H. S. Road in Padoor. It’s a place called Vakkayil Impex. We handle a lot of different types of goods coming in and going out throughout the week. Most of the time, the day is spent on the telephone or checking long lists of items. The road outside can get a bit narrow when the delivery vans are parked there for loading. We try to keep things moving along so we don't block the neighbors too much. It’s a local operation, mostly just family and a couple of people from the nearby village. We aren't trying to be some giant corporation with fancy offices. We just want to make sure the things people order get where they are going. The building is an old one, but it works fine for what we need. Sometimes we get shipments that take the whole day to unload and we’re all pretty tired by the end of it. My uncle started this many years ago and we just kept it going. There’s a lot of paperwork with the international stuff, which isn't the fun part of the job, but it has to be done. We keep our records in big folders on the metal shelves. It’s dusty work sometimes. Padoor is a quiet enough place to work from. We’ve learned a lot over the years about how to handle different types of heavy cargo. You won't find anything fancy here.
