Parappurath Farm And Resorts operates out of Valliyakath House in Kechery. It’s a local spot where we handle both the farming side and the resort side of things. If you’re familiar with the Kechery post office area, you probably know the neighborhood. It’s a very grounded kind of business. We spend a lot of our time outdoors, checking on the land or seeing how the crops are doing. The office in Valliyakath House is where the paperwork happens, but we’d usually rather be outside. It’s a bit of a mix, really. One minute we’re talking about guest bookings and the next we’re worrying about the weather for the farm. It keeps us busy. The house has been in the family for a long time, and it’s where everything started. We don’t have any big flashy signs out front. People around here just know us by name. It’s a quiet life for the most part, except when things get busy during the harvest or the holidays. We try to keep things simple and honest. If something needs fixing, we usually do it ourselves. We aren't some big chain; we are just people from Kechery trying to run a decent place. Every day is a bit different, depending on what the farm needs or what’s happening at the resort. That’s just how we like it. The work is hard but it feels right to be doing it here.
