Lekshmi Food Products

We spend most of our time here at 87, South Kallettumkara Road. The shop is right in Anandapuram and most people around here know where it is. It's not a big place, just enough room to get the food items ready and sorted out every morning. Sometimes the humidity gets a bit high and we have to open the back door to let some air in. You can hear the traffic from the road all day long. We started doing this a while back because there was a need for local stuff that isn't from a big factory. Most days it’s just us packing things into bags and checking the dates on everything. The floor gets a bit dusty by noon so someone usually sweeps it out before the afternoon rush starts. It’s quiet in the early hours before the sun really hits the roof. We have a few old tables we use for the heavy work. My cousin helps out when things get busy during the festival times. It’s not fancy or anything, just a workplace where we try to get things done right. We usually have tea around four o’clock when the light starts to change. People stop by to chat sometimes even if they aren't buying anything. We know the neighbors and their kids. It’s just how things go here at Lekshmi Food Products. We use an old scale that we have to balance every few days. It's a bit messy but we know where everything is.
