Family Mart

Family Mart is located on Karakkad Road in Ongallur. It’s a busy enough spot, especially when schools let out or people are heading home from work. We opened up because we saw a need for a place that stays open a bit later than the others. It’s a simple setup. We have rows of things people use every day. Nothing too crazy. Sometimes the floors get a bit muddy when it rains, but we try to keep it clean. People come in and out pretty fast. It’s a neighborhood thing. We don't have a big corporate office or anything like that. It’s just us. I spend a lot of time organizing the back room, which always seems to get messy no matter how much I tidy it up. The light in the back flickers sometimes, and I keep meaning to fix it. We try to stock the brands people like, but sometimes the suppliers don't have what we want. We just make do with what we get. Most of the customers are people we see every week. We hear all the local news here, which makes the day go by faster. It’s a practical way to make a living. We aren’t trying to be the biggest store around, just a reliable one for the folks living near Ongallur. It gets a bit hot in the afternoons, but we have a fan that keeps things moving. Just a normal shop for normal people.
