Vinayaka Condiments

If you head down Aimurikara Road in Elambakapilly, you’ll find us. Vinayaka Condiments is a small operation, mostly focused on the stuff that makes food taste better. The air around here usually smells like spices or whatever we are working on that day. It’s a strong scent, but we’ve stopped noticing it after all these years. We don’t have a big fancy storefront with glass windows. It’s more of a functional space where we process and pack things. There’s a lot of weighing and sealing involved. It can be tedious work, standing on your feet for hours, but we keep the radio playing to pass the time. Most of our neighbors are farmers or people who have lived in Elambakapilly their whole lives. We see the same faces every day. We don't spend money on big ads or anything like that. Word usually just gets around by people talking. My hands are usually stained from whatever we’re packing, and the floor always has a bit of dust on it no matter how much we sweep. That’s just the nature of working with dry goods. We open up early when the air is still cool and try to get most of the heavy lifting done before the noon sun hits. It’s a simple life. We make sure the bags are full and the quality is okay, and then we head home to our own families. It is a quiet way to earn a living.
