Aiswarya Bricks

Aiswarya Bricks is down on Mulayam Road in the Manati Post area of Thrissur district. Being in this part of Kerala means we deal with a lot of rain for several months of the year. Our brickyard is usually a bit soggy during the monsoon, which makes the work twice as hard. We have rows and rows of bricks stacked up, waiting to be sent out. The red soil here is good for what we do. It’s a messy business, and we are always covered in red dust or mud. Mulayam Road isn't the widest, so when the big trucks come in, everything else has to stop. We don't have a big corporate setup. It’s just a shed with a table and a few stools. We keep the Manati Post address because it’s where we’ve always been. People know us by word of mouth more than anything else. We spend our mornings checking the bricks from the latest batch. It’s about the smell of the earth and the heat from the fires. We don't have a website or a marketing person. We just have our hands and the trucks that carry our name. Life at Aiswarya Bricks is slow but steady. We take our breaks under the coconut trees when the sun gets too sharp. Thrissur is a busy district, but out here on Mulayam Road, we just focus on the bricks and the weather. We hope for dry days so the kilns stay hot enough. It is just honest work that keeps us busy from dawn till dusk.
