Holy Cross Home Science College

Holy Cross Home Science College is situated at No. 52 in the New Colony area of Thoothukudi. We have been a part of this Tamil Nadu community for quite a long time. Our college is mainly for students who want to learn about home science and related subjects. It is a quiet place for the most part, tucked away in the colony. The building has a lot of history to it, and you can see that in the way the halls are laid out. We have practical rooms where the students can work on their projects, whether it is cooking or textiles or other science-based activities. We do not have a lot of modern flash, but we have the equipment that is necessary for the lessons. The staff here are mostly local women who have been teaching for many years. They are very practical and they don't use a lot of big words when they are explaining things. We have a routine that we follow every day, starting with a prayer and then moving into the different sessions. The weather here in Thoothukudi can get quite hot, so we try to keep the rooms as airy as possible. It is a simple life here at the college, and we are just focused on giving the students the skills they need for their futures. We are glad to be a small but useful part of the town.
