It is a very quiet part of Tirunelveli, which is good for students who need to focus on their studies. We have been here for several years at Annasamy Rajammal College Of Nursing, training young men and women to become nurses. It is a tough profession, and we don't try to hide that from them. Most of their day is spent in the classrooms or in the practical labs where they practice things like giving injections or dressing wounds. They all wear their white uniforms, and it gives the campus a very disciplined feel. We have a hostel on the site because many of our students come from small towns quite far away. Sometimes we arrange for them to go to hospitals in Tirunelveli for their training shifts. It is a lot of hard work and long hours, but that is what nursing is all about. We don't have a big marketing team; most people hear about us from former students who are now working in good hospitals. It’s a straightforward institution where we just try to produce capable nurses.
