Karthika Building Materials

Karthika Building Materials is situated in Ambalathara, right across the street from Al-Arif Hospital. It’s a busy spot because of the hospital traffic and the trucks we have coming in. We deal with the heavy stuff like sand, cement bags, and bricks. You can see the piles of materials from the road. The ground is always a bit dusty or muddy depending on the weather. We spend most of our time outdoors or in the open shed. It is a physical job, moving bags around and loading them onto small lorries. We don't have a fancy office, just a small cabin where we keep the receipts. The sound of the hospital sirens is something we’ve grown used to over the time we’ve been here. People from the neighborhood stop by when they are fixing up their houses or building something new. We just give them a fair price and help them load up their vehicles. It’s not a complicated business. We keep track of what comes in and what goes out. The guys working here are used to the heavy lifting. Sometimes we sit on the cement bags during a break and just watch the cars go by on the main road. We’ve been at this Ambalathara location for years. It’s a reliable place for local builders to get what they need without a lot of talking.
